This is a 15 Inch Sirupate Khukuri "a native multi utility tool". “Sirupate” a new successor in traditional series showcasing its sturdy shining polished blade in modern execution with stunning looks. This khukuri adds to the rich heritage built by GGK in modern-traditional aesthetics.
Sirupate is the name derived from the name of grass “Siru”. It is a long and thin pointed grass so the shape of khukuri blade is very much like that of Siru. The longer than standard blade size makes it a dangerous sabotaging weapon with the power of clean decapitation.
The blade is well hand forged subjected to controlled heat treatment which makes it strong with everlasting durability. A visually stunning mirror polished blade adorned with beautiful design of blood groove (locally called Aaunlo Bal) has modified brass inlays and gorgeous looking chho “notch”. The razor sharp edge is very useful for cutting, splitting, slicing, hacking and much more. The khukuri is best suited for domestic chores.
Historically this khukuri was used by Limbu and Rai people of eastern Nepal assisting them in their daily works. It is a matter of pride of owning this khukuri for every household. Keeping that legacy alive GGK has reproduced this Sirupate in modern execution with full tang handle to meet the expectation of westerners.
Originally this khukuri has rat tail tang but GGK modified into full tang well epoxied by gorgeous wooden handle with engraved grooves and ridges for powerful uphold of the blade in the fists. The diamond keeper has secured the buttcap with astonishing looks.
The blade's distinctive forward drop is intended to act as a weight on the end of the blade making the khukuri fall on the target faster and with more power.
The lanyard hole allows a leather chord / thong to go through that can be tied through your wrists or belt saving your survival tool from losing even in the slippery and wet conditions.
The well designed scabbard adds to the amazing craftsmanship on this khukuri which will surely make the owner feel proud. The khukuri comes in well designed brown leather scabbard of high quality and has good retention power of holding the blade.
Two small knives namely Karda and Chakmak made from high quality spring steel iron (special feature of GGK) comes with it. Karda is the sharp small knife which can be used to cut small woods, dig holes, skinning out animals. Similarly, we have Chakmak that can be used for honing the blade and striking sparks for fire.
