This is a 14 inch World War II battalion type khukuri. This has a balanced kukri knife blade. Balanced khukuri means at neutral balance the khukuri will stand on its own edge at the balance point. Balance point is pretty well centered.

This khukuri was used by Nepalese army during the Second World War.  At that time Juddha Shumsher Rana was the prime minister of Nepal. This khukuri was used in different special battalion camp with defensive purposes. In Second World War when British Gurkha Army were captured by rival countries they sought help from the Nepalese Army. With this khukuri in their hands Nepalese Army were deployed and they freed the British Armies. So this khukuri carries the legacy of valor.

During the war, Nepalese Army used this khukuri, because even throwing this type of khukuris from further distance it can easily hack the body part of rivals as more power is centralized at the tip. As WW II progressed this battalion khukuri gained quick momentum among the soldiers.

This khukuri is available in traditional design scabbard with potholes for two small knives namely Karda & Chakmak. Karda is the sharp small knife which can be used to cut small woods, dig holes, skinning out animals. Similarly, we have Chakmak that can be used for honing the blade and producing flints for fire. Both Karda and Chakmak made by GGK are of high quality due to use of spring steel blade.
