This is a 10.5 inch Panawal Gripper Khukuri. "Pana" means "tang " and "wal" means type. Thus the handle of this khukuri is a famous Panawal version where the handle pieces are glued with epoxy to the full flat tang and metal rivets are fitted together to strengthen the fixtures.

The strong handle makes the khukuri suitable for heavy duty works. Both the pommel and bolster are made from thick iron plate to withstand the heavy impact taken by the blade.

Gurkhas especially carry service khukuri with them but at the time of war they carry a razor sharp khukuri too which is the Panawal Khukuri.

Karda & Chakmak are also part of this khukuri. Karda is the sharp small knife which can be used to cut small woods, dig holes, skinning out animals. Similarly, we have Chakmak that can be used for honing  the blade and producing sparks for fire.

Karda and Chakmak produced by GGK are of highest quality as they are too made from leaf spring blade compared to others serving the very purpose .
